About the Space
The Sanctuary is a waterfront, restored century-old stone church on NYC's historic Roosevelt Island. Sweeping views of Manhattan, the East River, and its bridges. Location is near the Roosevelt Island lighthouse, parkland, and piers. Main indoor church space is now converted into a flex event space with a 40 ft marble bar and catering prep kitchen. Original beams, stained glass windows, alter, and pulpit (moveable). Attached to the church space is a renovated 3-bedroom house with 1 full bath and 2 half baths. Fireplace parlor room and main living room on the first floor. Outdoor areas include a wood-gated back courtyard, a front bi-level patio, and our main outdoor 4000 sq. ft patio terrace at the side of the church. The terrace has an outdoor bar and wood-burning pizza oven.
